Here at the Hoosier Farmers Market Association, we love real, fresh, local food. For us, farmers markets are ideal venues for consumers to meet and know their Indiana farmers and ask questions about food grown, raised, produced and crafted within 100 miles of home.
Hoosier Farmers Markets is an educational organization supporting farmers' markets, market managers and their farmers, vendors and customers. We are a not-for-profit entity providing tools, resources, materials, workshops, programs and services that support direct-marketing relationships.
The Farmers Markets
As of July 2018, there are 194 confirmed farmers' markets operating in Indiana. Each market is unique to its own community. You can rest assured that every week of the year somewhere in the great state of Indiana a farmers market is providing seasonal produce, meat, dairy and artisan foods.
We are lucky to have a diversity of farmers markets. Markets are municipally managed, or led by nonprofits, volunteers or private businesses. Some have live music, offer yoga, sell wine or even operate tiny libraries. Indiana's farmers markets range in size from two vendors to 125 vendors!
All Hoosiers whether they earn $5,000 or $500,000 annually will have access to fresh and local food, the opportunity to know their farmers, and the option to participate in the local food economy within their own vibrant community.
